Our mission: to innovate, train and share
The Society is affiliated with the European Hernia Society and fully shares its institutional goals.
It aims to become, within the scientific community, a point of reference in the field of abdominal wall disease.
Scientific goals and activities for the advancement of the field
The project aims to provide accurate information to those who wish to deepen their knowledge of hernia and abdominal wall surgery, offering an important opportunity for sharing and continuing education for professionals who practise this type of surgery.
The Society is accredited as a CME (E.C.M.) Provider by the Italian Ministry of Health.
The assets of ISHAWS consist of the membership fees paid to the chapter, which will be transferred to the EHS for the share due to it; ISHAWS members are therefore also members of the EHS and are entitled to receive the official journal of the EHS, “Hernia”.
The assets may also include funds from contributions by public and private bodies, donations, bequests from individuals and anything else expressly left to the Society. Any income from these assets will be used for administrative expenses, scientific projects and anything else related to the Society’s purposes.
