Structure and members of the governing body
The governing body of ISHAWS is the Board of Directors, composed as follows:
Three Founding Members
A President, who is the outgoing National Delegate
A National Delegate, appointed by the international board of the EHS on the proposal of the Board of Directors, which selects them from among those entitled;
Eight Councillors (Executive Board), elected by the General Assembly of the Society, convened by the President, from among members whose membership is in good standing. Members in good standing who are not present at the Assembly may be represented by proxy to the President or the National Delegate, or may vote by e-mail (through the secretariat).
The Board of Directors assigns the roles of Secretary and Treasurer to two of the councillors.
Two Website Delegates, also elected in the same way as the Councillors.
Members of the Board of Directors, with the exception of the Founding Members who are members by right, remain in office for three years and may be re-elected.
The President is responsible for administration together with the Secretary and the Treasurer, convenes the Board of Directors and, in agreement with it, organises scientific and outreach activities, and acts as the contact with companies for any sponsorship.
The National Delegate is the official representative of ISHAWS (Italian Chapter) at the EHS and assists the President in carrying out their duties.
The Secretary keeps the up-to-date register of members and their contact details. Together with the Website Delegates, the Secretary is responsible for promptly informing all members of the Society’s activities.
The Treasurer manages the membership fees, requests payment of annual fees, makes documented operating expenses and, in liaison with the National Delegate, transfers the share due to the EHS.
ISHAWS members undertake not to carry out scientific or educational activities in this field, nationally or internationally, under the aegis or patronage of the E.H.S. without the express consent of the President and the National Delegate.
