Rules for granting patronage

ISHAWS, the Italian Society of Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery, Italian Chapter of the EHS (European Hernia Society), grants the Society’s patronage and the use of its logo to all events of educational and training value that are relevant to the mission, purpose and aims of the Society.

How to obtain patronage

The request, made by the scientific director of the event, who must be an ISHAWS member with membership fees paid up, must reach the Society’s Secretariat at least 90 days before the date of the event so that it can be submitted to the Board of Directors, which will give its opinion within the following 30 days. The decision of the Board of Directors is final.

In order to align the request with the established evaluation criteria, the Board of Directors reserves the right to request changes to the programme and organisational plan.

How the granting of patronage is communicated

The Society’s Secretariat will notify the applicant and, if the opinion is favourable, will: send the Society’s institutional logo, to be used according to the guidelines provided;
publish a dedicated banner on the ISHAWS website with a link to the event website;
send a mass mailing to all its members.

Under current privacy legislation, ISHAWS is not authorised to send lists of members’ names to event organisers.
